HYROX TRAINING
IN LOS ANGELES

Training for HYROX in Los Angeles? K2 HYROX is an Official HYROX Affiliate gym in the center of the city — coached HYROX classes seven days a week, a full race simulation every Sunday, and a head coach who races Pro Masters himself.

HYROX is simple to describe and hard to do well: eight 1 km runs, eight workout stations, one clock. Training for it means building a running engine and the strength to push a sled, carry heavy and throw a hundred wall balls after it. That's what the program at K2 is built around — for first-timers chasing a finish and for athletes chasing a Pro time.

We're at 3910 Wilshire Blvd in Koreatown, one block from the Wilshire/Western Metro D Line station and a short drive from Downtown, Hollywood, Mid-Wilshire, Silver Lake and the Westside. Here's the gym, parking and hours →

WHAT A HYROX RACE LOOKS LIKE

Every HYROX event in the world runs the same course: a 1 km run, then a station, eight times over. Because the format never changes, your finish time is comparable from LA to Anaheim to Berlin — and training for it can be very specific.

HOW K2 TRAINS YOU FOR HYROX

Our weekly programming is written for the race. You don't need to piece together a running plan, a lifting plan and a "station day" yourself — the coached classes cover all three, and the Sunday simulation ties them together.

Mon–Fri classesHyrox/CF Metcon — 6, 7, 8 & 11 AM · 3, 6 & 7 PM. Coach-led strength piece plus a HYROX-style conditioning workout: run intervals, sled push and pull, SkiErg and rower pacing, wall balls, lunges, carries and burpee broad jumps. Every class scaled to you.
Sunday 10 AMHYROX Simulation — a coached run-through of the race format. Learn pacing, transitions and how to hold form when you're tired, so race day isn't the first time you've felt it.
Saturday 10 AMCF Metcon — a weekend conditioning session with the community.
Open GymWeekday 9–10 AM, 12–2 PM and 4 PM for extra running, station practice and the recovery floor. Full times on the schedule.

Recovery is part of the plan, not an add-on: membership includes cupping, NormaTec compression, infrared sauna and hyperbaric oxygen on the recovery floor.

WHO TRAINS HYROX AT K2

COACHED BY AN ATHLETE WHO RACES

Kevin Kim founded K2 in Koreatown in 2017 and still coaches the floor every day. He is a certified HYROX Coach, a Level 3 Trainer and a CAMTC therapist, and he competes at HYROX in the Pro Masters division — most recently at HYROX Anaheim. He has coached a Games semifinalist from this gym and holds a Fittest Korean Masters world title.

What that means for you: the person writing your program has stood on the start line, felt the sled at the 5 km mark, and knows what actually transfers to race day. Meet Coach Kim →

RACING IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA

HYROX comes through Southern California on the race calendar — Los Angeles and Anaheim have both hosted events — and K2 members train toward those weekends as a group: shared race-day logistics, teammates on the course and a crowd at the finish. In between, we run in-house competitions so there's always something on the calendar.

Visiting LA and need somewhere to train the week of a race? Drop-ins are $39.99 — text us the day before and we'll have a spot in class.

GETTING HERE FROM ACROSS LA

HYROX LOS ANGELES FAQ

Where can I train for HYROX in Los Angeles?

At K2 HYROX, an Official HYROX Affiliate at 3910 Wilshire Blvd in Koreatown — central LA, one block from the Wilshire/Western Metro station. Coached HYROX classes run seven days a week, with a full race simulation every Sunday. Directions, parking & hours →

Do I need to be fit already?

No. Every class is scaled — lighter sleds, shorter runs, fewer reps — and many of our racers walked in as beginners. If you can walk and you're willing to learn, you can start.

Is this the same as CrossFit?

It's related. K2 opened as K2 CrossFit in 2017 and the classes are still coached functional fitness: strength, conditioning, barbell and gymnastics. What's different is the emphasis on running and the eight race stations, because so many members compete at HYROX. Coming from a CrossFit box? Read this.

How many days a week should I train for HYROX?

Three to four coached sessions a week is a solid build for a first race; competitive athletes train five or six with the Sunday simulation as the anchor. Your coach will tell you where to start based on your running background and your race date.

Can you prepare me for Doubles or a Relay team?

Yes. We train partner splits, station hand-offs and pacing strategy in the Sunday simulation, and many K2 teams form in class. Tell us who you're racing with and we'll program for it.

What does it cost?

Your first class is free. Unlimited memberships start at $195 a month and include every class and the recovery floor. Drop-ins are $39.99. 1-on-1 HYROX coaching is $100 a session, or 4 for $200 for members. See pricing above.
